Simplex is a fabric made on a warp knit machine called a simplex machine. Where tricot machines have one row or bar of needles which form loops, a simplex machine has two needle bars. The yarn being knit traverses side to side AND from one needle bar to the other forming a double thickness fabric. The resulting fabric is generally strong, thick and has very excellent drape.
